Julia Organ

Executive Director

Julia Organ

As Executive Director, Julia drives the strategic goals of the foundation to make MindUP available to all. Julia is the Global Education Lead supporting MindUP innovation and global reach. Julia is a Psychology graduate of the University of London and received her teaching degree at Froebel College, London. Julia has over 25 years experience in education across a wide range of roles including primary headship, school improvement and Initial Teacher Training.

Hayley Dobson

Operations Manager

Hayley Dobson

As Operations Manager, Hayley is tasked with overseeing the UK operations of The Goldie Hawn Foundation and the MindUP programme. This includes office management, executive assistance, external communications, data management, logistics of the MindUP programme, and day-to-day financial activities. Hayley has worked in charity operations for the last 6 years. Prior to this, Hayley was a registered health and social care manager.

Rachel Bailey

Training and Schools Partnership Lead

Rachel Bailey

As Training and School Partnerships Lead, Rachel is tasked with developing and leading MindUP training and development for schools. Rachel has over 25 years of experience working in education, including roles in teaching, senior leadership in schools, and as school improvement consultant to local authorities, regional government and education charities.

Claire Farrell

Training and Schools Partnership Lead

Claire Farrell

As Training and School Partnerships Lead, Claire is tasked with developing and facilitating MindUP training and development for schools. Claire is a qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience in training and development. Claire has a passion for whole-school wellbeing and social and emotional learning, she is currently undertaking an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology. Her studies and experience have enabled her to apply evidence-based positive psychology approaches to education.

Ruth Martin

MindUP Programme Assistant

Ruth Martin

As MindUP Programme Assistant, Ruth is tasked with helping facilitate the implementation and operation of the MindUP programme, as well as running all MindUP UK social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). Before completing her Masters in Art History at The Courtauld Institute of Art, Ruth worked with the charity Shelter which campaigns to end homelessness in the UK.

Founder and President

Goldie Hawn

Our founder Goldie Hawn is an academy award-winning actress, producer, director, best-selling author and children’s advocate. Goldie established the foundation in 2003 to facilitate the development of a pioneering wellbeing programme, known today as MindUP. Goldie, a thought leader in the field of mindfulness-based social and emotional learning, drives the mission of the foundation to equip children with the social and emotional skills they need to lead smarter, healthier, and happier lives.

Jeff Montgomery

Jeff Montgomery

Jeff Montgomery is the Founder of GMT Communications Partners and was its Managing Partner from 1993-2017. Jeff is currently a Senior Advisor to GMT and has an MBA from the Wharton School, an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and is a fellow of the Lauder Institute of International Studies. He holds a BA from Hobart College. Jeff was instrumental in establishing the UK arm of The Goldie Hawn Foundation in 2011. Jeff also serves on the Board of Governors of Nile Rodger’s We Are Family Foundation, is a Trustee of The London Buddhist Society and is a member of the Ashoka Support Network.

Bill Roedy

Bill Roedy

Bill Roedy is the former Chairman and CEO of MTV Networks International, where he and his team built from scratch a global operation of 200 channels and 20 brands. Prior to joining MTV, Roedy was a Vice President for HBO for ten years and was inducted as one of the “Pioneers” of the U.S. cable industry. 

Bill currently serves as Chairman of the Staying Alive Foundation and is a board member of Westminster College, the American School in London (ASL), and had advisory roles with Baruch College and the Berlin School of Creative Leadership. Bill has received the International Emmy Founder’s Award, amfAR’s Award of Courage, Individual Business Leadership Award presented by US President Bill Clinton, Doctors of the World Leadership Award and the UN Correspondents Association Global Citizen of the Year Award presented by UN Secretary-General Ban–Ki-Moon in 2009.

Mark Soundy

Mark Soundy

Mark Soundy is the co-founder of PriestleySoundy, a different type of law firm focusing on Private Equity and specialising in Management Representation work. Mark is a former partner at Travers Smith, Weil, Shearman & Sterling Global Co-Head of Private Equity and Goodwin and for more than 30 years has advised leading institutional investors, international businesses and senior management teams. Throughout his career,  Mark has championed Pro Bono and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. He has been and remains involved in a number of charitable and not-for-profit activities. He was the Founder Chairman of the Trinity College, Cambridge, Alumni Advisory Board and the Chairman of the Maclaren Foundation of Summer Fields School. He is a Trustee on the Radley College Foundation and a co-founder of the social media network Radley For Life. He also provides pro bono legal advice to several clients including The Goldie Hawn Foundation UK and We Are Family Foundation UK.

Our team of MindUP consultants are based across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. They provide training and support to schools and organisations internationally to successfully implement the MindUP programme.
